Stage 5 Trasadingen – Biel

Last day! Last stage!

With fresh courage and support from a lecturer in medical informatics at the BFH, Joshua started this morning from Trasadingen to Liestal to interview Faton Shabanaj, the senior project manager at the Cantonal Hospital Baselland. Faton told about all his tasks in the hospital, which was very interesting!

After the interview, Joshua had to ride the last pass on his tour-de-medical informatics: the upper Hauenstein. After that he was already on his way to Biel! Meanwhile I drove from Trasadingen to Delémont in the morning, cleaned our apartment and made preparations for the reception of Joshua at the BFH: inviting friends, buying balloons, drinks and a bouquet of flowers.

Joshua passed Biel at about 14:00, but then had to drive around the whole lake of Biel, so that he drove 200 km today. I went to the BFH at 16:00 to inflate and hang up the balloons and coordinate with friends and family.

Finally Joshua arrived at 17:00 on the high trail 80. We, a small group of friends and family, welcomed him with cheers. I think in the beginning he couldn’t really believe it and understand what was really going on. But after a few minutes you could see the relief and pride on his face.

Afterwards he was interviewed by a journalist from RJB (radio jura bernois) about his tour. Here you can read and listen to the article in French.

Nice it was and nice he returned without injury. Now first of all we will rest at home and then we will take our well-deserved holidays!

The highlights of the day documented in a video:
